Ramiro Alberto Resendez Ramiro A. Resendez, 54, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012, surrounded by family at a local hospital. He was born April 21, 1958 in Laredo, Texas the son of Martin and Judith M. Resendez. He was the 5th of 11 siblings. Ramiro loved life, family and was a dedicated father. He was a successful, self employed businessman. He enjoyed the ranch and traveling. He was loved by many and was nicknamed “Fitch” by his good friends during his high school years. He graduated from St. Augustine High School in 1976. He appreciated a variety of music especially rock. Ramiro is preceded in death by his father, Martin Resendez Sr. and his sister Dr. Elsa Resendez Maxwell. He is survived by his mother, Judith M. Resendez; son, Ramiro “Bert” (Grizelda) Resendez; grandchildren, Jesus, Victoria and Alexander Resendez; brothers and sisters; Judith (Andrew) Davis of Odessa, TX, Alma R. Haverkamp, Martin (Sandra) Resendez, Jr., Dr. Steven Maxwell of College Station, TX, Laura (Dr. Carlos) Llanes, Griselda Vanderford of Dallas, TX, Sandy (Mark) Wenk of San Antonio, TX, Jose R. “Rick” (Susie) Resendez, Diana Resendez, and Gerardo J. “Jerry” (Leticia) Resendez; 17 nieces and nephews, 7 great nieces and nephews and many aunts and uncles. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 7:15 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 8:15 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to Divine Mercy Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the family plot at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family wishes to give their utmost gratitude to Dr. Carlos M. Llanes and the LMC ICU nursing staff for their care and support. Pallbearers will be: Martin Resendez Jr., Jose R. “Rick” Resendez, Gerardo J. “Jerry” Resendez, Andrew Davis, Dr. Carlos Llanes, and Jeffrey Haverkamp.
