Maria R. Fierros

Maria Rafaela Fierros, beloved sister, aunt, godmother, great-aunt, and great-great aunt entered the kingdom of heaven to begin her eternal life with the Lord on July 6, 2012 in the comfort of her own home surrounded by those who loved her the most; her immediate family members. Ms. Fierros was a Staff Sergeant and World War II Veteran who served her country from 1943 to 1964 in U.S. Army and U.S. Air force. Ms. Fierros was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a longtime resident of Laredo, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Demetrio and Severa Fierros and her two sisters, Mrs. Cleotilde Reyna and Mrs. Susana Merse. Ms. Fierros is survived by her nieces, Gloria M. Hansen and Cleo R. Klinger; god-daughter and great niece, Mrs. Bryon (Suzanne) Alford; great nieces and nephews, Mrs. Sabas (Catherine) Zapata, Mr. Paul Klinger, Mr. Richard Klinger and Mrs. Alfonso (Michelle) Garza as well as many great-great nieces and nephews. A funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012 at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. There will be no procession, please meet at the Church. Interment will follow in the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 59 Honor Guard.
