Jose M. Gonzalez

Jose M. Gonzalez, 87, went to be with our Lord on August 28, 2012 in Laredo, Texas. Jose M. Gonzalez was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a Sergeant in the Service Battery 6th Field Artillery Battalion. Mr. Gonzalez later retired from Laredo Junior College as an Electrician after 16 years of service. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Gonzalez is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Maria Antonietta Gonzalez; children, Jose G. (Guadalupe) Gonzalez, and Raquel (Jesus) Lopez Jr. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2012 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. A chapel service will be held at 11 a.m. with Deacon Jerry Morales officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jose G. Gonzalez, Jose G. Gonzalez Jr., Jesus Lopez Jr., Jesus Lopez III, Rolando Cadena Jr., and Michael Hess. Honorary pallbearer will be David J. England. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post 59 Honor Guard. The family would like to thank Laredo Medical Center I.C.U.
