Jose Regalado

Mr. Jose Regalado, Master mechanic and owner of Regalado's Repair Shop, passed into his Lord's hands on August 31, 2012. Mr. Regalado was a loving father who inspired the values of honor and virtue in his family. He was a strong believer in hard work and in helping people succeed. He enjoyed teaching not only mechanics to his many pupils, but also the importance of having pride in their work and earning people's respect. He was also a fabulous story teller. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his mother, Zenaida de Jesus Ramirez; his loving wife of 58 years Ofelia A. Regalado, daughter Maria Magdalena Regalado; and sister, Graciela Martinez. He is survived by his children, Hortencia G. Regalado, Jose J. (Lupita) Regalado Jr., Juan M. (Jennifer) Regalado, Ofelia Y. (Andres) Maldonado, Francisco J. (San Juana G.) Regalado and Angela M. (Antonio) Padilla; 10 loving grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, Bertha A. (Jose L. +) Ortiz, Manuel Alvarez, Martha Villalta, Maria de los Angeles (Francisco) Henriquez and Ruben (Josefina +) Casillas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 7 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 8 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to San Luis Rey Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. Interment will follow to the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Thank you to all the doctors and nurses who cared for him in his time of need and for the support and friendship of all his neighbors and friends. Pallbearers will be Jose J. Regalado, Juan M. Regalado, Francisco J. Regalado, Andres Maldonado, Antonio R. Padilla, Andres O. Regalado, Carlos J. Regalado, and Josue Regalado. Arrangements are under the direction of Hillside Funeral Home, 310 Hillside Rd.
