Gloria Alicia Dominguez -Gutierrez was called by our Holy Father to eternal life on the evening of Tuesday September 11, 2012. She went home peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Salvador and Concepcion Dominguez on November 27, 1946 in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. At the age of 9, she moved to Laredo, Texas with her family. She graduated from Martin High school in 1965 and married her high school sweetheart Manuel Bocanegra. They moved to Chicago, Illinois and had two children. While in Chicago, she later married Federico Gutierrez and together had a son. Gloria later moved back with her children to Laredo to take care of her father. Gloria was a very loving and caring person. She loved to give advice and help others. Her vibrant smile and personality held an impact on everyone who met her. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Her eldest son held a special place in her heart, and she would do everything to make sure he was well cared for. She will be greatly missed by any and all who were privileged to have met her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Salvador and Concepcion Dominguez, and her brother, Alfonso Dominguez. She is survived by her loving children, Andre R. Bocanegra, Roxana (Carlos) Davila, and David A. Gutierrez; grandchildren, Nicolas, Anthony, Michael and Alessandra Davila; brothers, Donato, Daniel Guerra, and Emilio Willis. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends who were considered family. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Please meet at the San Agustin Cathedral, 200 San Agustin Ave. Services will conclude at the Church.
