Judith Carol Reyna Judith Carol Reyna, a lifelong resident of Laredo died on September 15, after a long illness. Born on December 15, 1943, Ms. Reyna was graduated from Martin High School and received a B.A. in Spanish and history from Sull Ross College in Alpine, Texas. After a seven year teaching position in Fort Stockton, Texas, she returned to her beloved alma mater, Martin High School, where she taught history for thirty five years before retiring because of poor health. While at Martin High she was a Tiger Dolls sponsor and an avid supporter of all the sports teams. Judy lived the slogan, "Once a Tiger, always a Tiger". In 2009, Ms. Reyna was elected by the student body to be one of the recipients of the Tiger Golden Mentor Award. Her total teaching career spanned 42 years during which time she taught thousands of Texas students. She never married but considered her students as her children. Judy's other love were her numerous feline companions. Judith was a member of the Retired School Teachers Association. She is survived by her devoted mother, Mildred; her sister, Mary Claude; brother-in-law, Raymond Londa; cousins, Cleo Klinger, Cathy (Sabas) Zapata, Michelle (Poncho) Garza, Dicky and Chappy Klinger, Edmund (Myra) Judy of Indiana, and Frank (Lauren) Judy of South Carolina. She is also survived by numerous other cousins. The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, September 22, 2012 between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at Hillside Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Laredo Animal Protective Society. A private burial of her cremated remains will be arranged at a later time.
