Elva Valdez Gallegos

Elva Gallegos, 79, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2012, in Laredo, Texas. Elva will always be remembered for her giving heart. Giving was her way of loving. She was the life of the party. Elva would always make a grand entrance with her stylish ways. Her family and friends will always miss this incredible, energetic Lady whom never left home without her hat. Mrs. Gallegos is preceded in death by her husband, Fernando Gallegos; daughter, Elva Rosario Gallegos; father, Manuel Valdez; mother, Maria del Rosario Valdez; brother, Ramiro Valdez; and sister, Emma Valdez. She is survived by her children, Fernando (Patricia) Gallegos Jr., Eduardo (Marina) Gallegos, Ricardo (Rosa Elena) Gallegos, Socorro (Juan Manuel†) Gallegos Peña, and Rogelio (Deborah) Gallegos; grandchildren, Fernando Gallegos III, Johnny Peña Jr., Ricardo Gallegos Jr., Belinda Pena, Eduardo Gallegos Jr., Jorge Gallegos, Rose Mary Gallegos, Rina Gallegos, Rogelio Gallegos, Armando Gallegos, Michelle Peña, Michael Peña, and Angel Gallegos; siblings, Manuel Valdez Jr., Mario Valdez, Reynaldo Valdez, and Martha Valdez Gutierrez. A vigil will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to Holy Family Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Fernando Gallegos Jr., Fernando Gallegos III, Eduardo Gallegos, Eduardo Gallegos Jr., Ricardo Gallegos, Rogelio Gallegos, Reynaldo Valdez, and Martin Gutierrez.
