Maria Luisa Rodriguez

Maria Luisa Rodriguez, lifetime resident of Laredo, Texas entered eternal rest and joined the Lord October 15, 2012 at her home at the age of 102, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. “Guelita” was a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother and friend who always told her family she wanted to live long enough to see her grandchildren marry. Her wish came true and she lived to see and enjoy her family, including great-great grandchildren. She was also a devout member of Our Lady of Schoenstatt. Mrs. Rodriguez was preceded in death by her husband, Sixto Rodriguez, who is waiting for her with open arms in heaven; grandchildren, Michael Rodriguez, Hector Rodriguez Jr., Fidencio Gloria, Gerardo Iruegas, and Ricardo Camacho Jr. She is survived by her children, Sixto, Jr. (Irma Alicia), Rodolfo (Graciela†), Luis (Maria Aurora), Roberto (Socorro), Hector (Isabel), Jesus (Magda†), Maria Dorotea “Tea” (Antonio) Moctezuma, Teresa (Mario†), Alicia (Ricardo †) Iruegas, and Dolores “Lola” (Richard) Camacho; brothers and sisters, Ofelia Dominguez, Sara Vega, Mercedes Ramirez, and Jesus Flores; grandchildren, Sixto III, Sandra Rodriguez; Elma Mastee, Eloy, Rene, Rodolfo “Rudy” Rodriguez, Jr., Louis, Patricia Rodriguez, Susan Kosmuch, Vivian Espinoza, Lupita Reyes, Aurora Martinez, Maria Luisa, Jose Luis, Jr., Laura, Veronica, Yvonne Rodriguez; Mary Salinas, Eliza De La Garza, Daniel Rodriguez, Thelma Gaytan, David Rodriguez, Marie Espino, Tony, George, Danny Moctezuma; Emmanuel, Francisco, Joseph, Sixto, Joaquin Antonio, Mary Helen Gloria, Terry Guerrero, Ricardo, Gilberto, John Paul Iruegas, Melissa Espinoza, Melinda Robles, Robert, Raymond Camacho, and Elizabeth Moreno. She was also blessed with 84 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to San Francisco Xavier Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family gives special thanks to her caregivers, Abby Inguanzo and Rosario Lopez. Pallbearers will be Rodolfo “Rudy” Rodriguez, Jr., Jesus “Chuy” Flores, Jose Luis Rodriguez, Jr., Sixto Rodriguez III, Ricardo Iruegas Jr. and Louis Rodriguez.
