Jose Ramon Mendiola

Jose Ramon Mendiola passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 in McAllen, Texas. Mr. Mendiola was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He worked for 30 years as a Respiratory Therapist. The hospitals he worked for are Mercy, Doctors, and Vencor. His favorite hobby was hunting. He also coached baseball. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Mendiola is preceded in death by his parents, Ramon Mendiola and Lamar R. Mendiola; siblings, Antonio Guerra, Maria Del Refugio Spence, and Lamar Veyna. He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Josefina Mendiola; children, Yvonne (Santos) Leija, Jose Ramon Jr., Leticia (Gilbert) Peña; grandchildren, Jose Mendiola, Jessie Leija, James Leija, Alexis Peña, Ashley Peña; and siblings, Jesus Justo Guerra and Carlota Piña. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 2, 2012 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Family and friends are invited to meet at the church for an 8:00 a.m. mass. A procession will follow to the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jose Mendiola, Jesse Leija, James Leija, Gilbert Peña, Santos Leija, and Antonio Veyna.
