Date of Publication: Tuesday, November 13, 2012 Hillside Funeral Home Rene George Du Fresne Rene George Du Fresne, 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 10, 2012 in Laredo, Texas. Mr. Du Fresne was a Veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict receiving numerous Medals and Honors for his service. He was a proud and hardworking father to his five daughters. During the many family gatherings he most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mr. Du Fresne will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Du Fresne is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Belia E. Du Fresne; son, Rene Du Fresne Jr.; parents, Jose and Maria Du Fresne; brothers, Juan Du Fresne, and Jesus Sanchez. He is survived by his daughters, Rosa Maria (Antonio) Reyes, Laura (David) Lopez, Belia Garcia, Belinda (Richard) Ramirez, and Cynthia (Roland) Ogg; grandchildren, Ricardo Romanos, Jr., Griselda (Joel) Sandoval, Angelica Reyes, Melissa E. Lopez, David J. Lopez Jr., Rene R. Lopez, Christina Garcia, Ricardo Ramirez Jr., Ray Ramirez, Roxy Ramirez, Scott E. Ogg, and Steve E. Ogg; great-grandchildren, Carlos A. Romanos, Alyssa R. Romanos, Jordan Soto, Sophia M. Sandoval, and Joel D. Sandoval Jr. He is also survived by his sister, Delia Silva; and sister-in-law, Zulema Ramos. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Veterans Section of the Laredo City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ricardo Romanos, Jr., David Lopez, Jr., Rene Lopez, Ricardo Ramirez Jr., Ruben Ray Ramirez, Joel Sandoval, Scott Lawson, and Roberto Martinez. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Ogg, Steve Ogg, Antonio Reyes, David Lopez, Roland Ogg and Ricardo Ramirez.
