Maria Eulalia "Lula" T. Guzman

Maria Eulalia (Lula) T. Guzman Maria Eulalia (Lula) T. Guzman, 80, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 in Laredo, TX. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife and mother, who was loved by many. Lula was a 1951 graduate from Martin High School. She was a hard working woman who began her career in 1957dedicating over 15 years to the Laredo Morning Times. In 1974 she was employed by the Laredo Legal Aid for over 20 years, retiring in the late ‘90s. She was a dedicated, loving and caring woman; she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Lula is preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Susana Tijerina; brother, Julian Tijerina. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years Humberto Guzman; sons, Humberto A. (Joyce) Guzman and Guillermo A. (Rosario) Guzman; grandchildren, Angela, David , Martin, Catarina and Miranda Guzman; siblings, Imelda (Bonifacio +) Leyendecker, Jorge (Leticia) Tijerina, Arturo (Gabriela) Tijerina and Susana (Fred) Yguerabide. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, numerous relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 19, 2012 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. There will be no procession; please meet at the church for a mass celebration at 9 a.m. Interment will be held at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX on Friday, November 23, 2012 at 12 p.m. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Alex Blanco for his professional care. Also, to Alan Gonzalez & nursing staff from Doctors Hospital for their compassion and support in the time of need.
