Maria Olivarez Ramos Mrs. Maria Olivarez Ramos, 93, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2012 in McAllen, Texas. “Nena”, as she was known by her loved ones was a loving mother, generous and kind to all. She was full of life and spirit and devoted herself to her children. “Nena” lived life thanking God for each and every of her blessings. Her charismatic smile and sense of humor will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed. Mrs. Ramos is preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, Baltazar R. Ramos Jr.; parents, Victoria and Adolfo Olivarez; and sister, Amanda Barrera. She is survived by her children, Baltazar (Mary) Ramos III, Velma (Hector) Fernandez Sr. and Dorina Ramos; grandchildren, Ann Marie (Ian) Gravagne, Andres Ramos, Jonathan (Mayra) Ramos, Hector Fernandez II, Roberto Luis Fernandez, Amanda (James) Hunt; 7 great grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel.
