Guillermo Granger, 90, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2012 in Laredo, Texas, surrounded by his beloved family. Mr. Granger was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He served proudly during World War II and was stationed in Italy and Germany from 1942 to 1945. Mr. Granger worked as a civilian at the Laredo Air Force Base for 19 years. He later took over his father’s business, a forwarding agency, and worked in the import-export business for 35 years. He had a passion for playing softball which began during his military years. He and his family took annual vacation trips to various regions in Mexico. His favorite pastime was enjoying the Las Vegas atmosphere with his wife. His family and friends will greatly miss him and his entertaining stories. Mr. Granger is preceded in death by his parents, Modesto and Ramona Granger; his sisters, Sara Valdez and Guillermina Treviño. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Emma P. Granger; his children, Cynthia (Frank) Saldaña, Jr., Diana Granger (William Alberts), Guillermo G. Granger, and Emma Granger (Rolando) Montalvo; grandchildren, Frank, Robert, Gabriela, Analisa and Armando Saldaña; Christopher and Kimberly Granger Alberts; Rolando, Claudia, Joemma, and Marco Antonio Montalvo. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A visitation will be held at Hillside Funeral Home on Saturday, December 1, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. A mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church.
