Maria Alma Paredes

Maria Alma Paredes, 71, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at a local hospital. Mrs. Paredes was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a very cheerful person who always looked after her family. She worked for many years at Sulak’s Men’s Store in downtown Laredo. Mrs. Paredes is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gilberto Paredes; sons, Gilberto Jr. (Irma) Paredes, Gabriel (Melba) Paredes; daughter, Grizelda (Alexeide) Carrillo; sisters, Gloria (Roberto) Guajardo, Minerva (Mauricio) Salazar, Imelda (Frank) Allred; and brother, Jose Luis Lozano. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A rosary will be recited on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
