Jacob Lowell Ivey “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day – and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing.” 2nd Timothy 4;7-8 Jacob Lowell Ivey, 24, passed away on March 5, 2013 in a San Antonio Hospital after an accident while travelling to work for Summit Well Services in Encinal. Jacob was born in Doctors Hospital on January 31, 1989 in Laredo, Texas. He attended school in Zapata and in Laredo. He had many varied interests including a love of animals, sports, music and art, but his greatest gift was his overwhelming compassion and empathy for people. Jacob was able to fulfill an ardent wish last fall when he was able to provide the means for he and his mom to attend a Greenbay Packer Game against the Chicago Bears. In furtherance of Jacob’s willingness to always help others his last gift was to help others through organ donation. Jacob is preceded in death by his maternal grandparent,s Charles Edward Copeland & Gladys Lorraine Crawford Copelan;, his uncle, Billy Charles Copeland and his uncle Roger Ivey. Survivors include his parents, Randall (Veronica) Ivey and his Mother, Donna (Bobby) Magnon; his fiancé Emma Perez; his brother, Edward Lee Ivey and sisters, Randi Lorraine Ivey, Rhae Ivey, and Robbye Ivey; stepbrothers, Jesse R Presas, and G. Omar Ramirez; Step Sisters, Gabriella(Romel) Salinas, Camille Magnon, Rony L (Ventura) Hernandez; grandparents, Henry Lee & Yolanda Ivey of Zapata; Aunts, Peggy (Ron) Coussons, Wanda Brewer, and Libby Copeland Reed; sister-in-laws, Ana (Kris) Vasquez, Dee (Ike Johnathan) Vela; Nieces, Victoria Lee Ivey and Elizabeth Lorraine Ivey. Also surviving are his “children” Odie (his dog) and Tommy the Cat and many more numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. Services will conclude at 2:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Honorary pallbearers will be Judge Raul Vasquez, Jacob Mackey, Paul Cab, Oscar Martinez, Marc Rodriguez, Clema Owens, and Dennis Hinojosa.
