Lilivette Diaz, 24, left to be with our Lord on Sunday, April 14, 2013 in Laredo, Texas. Lilivette Diaz was a very positive, active, outgoing and creative person. She graduated with honors from Alexander High School in 2007 where she was active in Student Council, Criminal Justice and even as the school’s mascot. After graduating from Laredo Community College with honors she transferred to T.A.M.I.U. and in May of 2012 earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. During her time in school she was involved in volleyball, track, cross country and was the President of the Student Nurses Association. As a registered nurse she worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Laredo Medical Center taking care of our babies. Her plans were to leave Laredo to continue her education for her master’s degree to specialize in children’s critical care. Lilivette was very active in her community she donated her hair to cancer patients and she was instrumental in raising money for the March of Dimes. She had a passion for reading books, especially the Harry Potter series. Lilivette showed her love to her family through her creative work. Before her passing, she had made personalized blankets to all her immediate family members. These blankets will forever symbolize her continued presence in their lives. She will be forever missed and never forgotten by all who knew and loved her. Lilivette Diaz is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Octavio Tamez and Lilia G. Tamez. She is survived by her parents, Abraham H. Diaz Jr., and Irene Diaz; siblings, Lilia Diaz (Sergio) Lozano, Liliana Diaz (Isidoro) Lozano and Abraham H. Diaz III; paternal grandparents, Beto Diaz Sr. and Rosa T. Diaz; niece, Briana Lozano; nephew, Brandon Lozano. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. She is also survived by “Bruno” her Jack Russell Terrier and newest member to our family. In honor of Lilivette’s passion to children’s health the family is requesting donations to be made to the March of Dimes, a cause she held close to her heart. A prayer service will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
