Armando H. Pena Armando H. Pena passed away on Monday, May 20, 2013 in Laredo, Texas. Mr. Pena was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a very humble, honest, hardworking man with strong work ethics and values which he passed down on to his children. Mr. Pena worked 44 years at Laredo Morning Times as a printer. He was fond of singing, music, birds, arts and crafts and had a great sense of humor. He loved to travel to the Rio Grande Valley and visit the San Juan Basilica. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly. He will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Pena is preceded in death by his wife, Guadalupe Torres Pena; mother, Maria Dolores Pena; daughter, Josie Sanchez; grandson, Ted Sanchez; brother, Alfredo Pena; sister, Josefina Pena. He is survived by his children, Socorro (Javier) Garcia, Gerardo (Noemi) Pena; grandchildren, Maria Noemi (Joel) Avalos, Maria Guadalupe (Antonio) Vasquez, Linda JoAnn (Jose) Garza, Gerardo Montiel, Andy Reyna, Linda Jo (Frank) Santos, Juan F. Sanchez, Laura Denise Sanchez; cousin, Gloria Dabdoub. Mr. Pena is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 7:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 8:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. David Garza for his care and compassion.
