Ramona Saldaña Ramona Saldaña, 78, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2013 in Laredo, Texas. Mrs. Saldaña was a loving mother, who devoted herself to her children, teaching them the values and importance of family. She worked for the United Independent School District for over 20 years and was well known as a great seamstress and her holiday cooking. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Saldaña is preceded in death by her parents, Maria de Jesus Cedillo and Rafael Saldaña; grandson, John Edgar Schandua sisters Martina Meza, and Dolores Almaguer. She is survived by her loving children, Luis Alberto (Veronica) Hernandez, Dolores (James) Schandua; grandchildren, Armando G. Montemayor, Carolisa Hernandez, Luis Alberto Hernandez II, Joshua (Marina) Schandua, Tammye Sue Schandua, Emily Gail Schandua; great granddaughter, Hailey Genesis Schandua; siblings, Rafael (Asuncion +)Saldaña, Guadalupe (Juan +) Guerrero , and Vicente (Carmen) Esparza; as well as numerous relatives and friends. A prayer service will be recited on Sunday June 9, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. A chapel service will be held on Monday, June, 10, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. Services will conclude after the service.
