Elia Peña Martinez Elia Peña Martinez, 84, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2013 in Laredo, Texas. Mrs. Martinez is preceded in death by her parents, Leonides and Casimira Peña; in- laws, Julio and Romana Martinez; son, David Martinez; baby daughter, Guadalupe Martinez. She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Carlos R. Martinez Sr.; sons, Carlos R. (Yolanda), Raul F. (Maru), Mario, Aldo (Anna), Arnoldo (Terrie); daughters, Rosie (Octavio) Salinas, Tatiana J. (Emmanuel) Lopez; Also surviving are her special grandchildren, who were close and raised by her, Carlos R. III, Danny, Michelle, Raul F. Martinez, Janelle M. Perez and Katrina J. Salinas; 20 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren as well as numerous relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 8, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Raul F. Martinez Jr., Arnoldo Martinez Jr., Carlo A. Martinez, Danny Martinez, Fernando Martinez, Ildephonso Martinez, Emmanuel Lopez and Michael Martinez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Carlos R. Martinez Jr., Raul F. Martinez Sr., Mario A.
