Marvin David “M.D.” Brand Marvin D. “M.D.” Brand passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2013 in Laredo, Texas. He was born in Houston, Texas, June 18, 1926, lived in Laredo for 56 years and worked at Joe Brand for 54 years. His greatest joys were his family, golf and fishing in Alaska. M.D’s love was his little dog “Nellie”. Everyone loved M.D.; the standing joke was “Everyone Loves Raymond”. Mr. Brand is preceded in death by his parents, Etta Harr Brand and Charles H. Brand; daughter, Sandra “Cookie” Brand. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lenora Brand; son, Randall Jay Brand; daughter, Selina Brand (Langdon “Trey”) Smith; grandchildren, Charlie and Phillip Brand; great grandchildren, Brittany and Austin Smith; sister in law, Mollyann Kaplan; niece, Lauri Laufman (Melody Paige); nephew, Ronnie (Ann) Laufman. Also surviving are cousins, Linda Deutsch, Terry Deutsch, Debbie Falick, Lisa Hinojosa, Mark Deutsch and Caroline Nathan as well as numerous relatives and friends. A chapel service will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Services will conclude at the chapel.
