Petra “Petrita” G. Gonzalez Petra”Petrita” G. Gonzalez, 85, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 in Laredo, Texas surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Gonzalez was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on October 19, 1928 to Evaristo Garza and Matilde Rodriguez. She enjoyed going to Las Vegas, playing “maquinitas” and cooking for her family and friends. Mrs. Gonzalez is preceded in death by her loving husband, Roberto E. Gonzalez; parents, Evaristo Garza and Matilde Rodriguez; step-father, Juventino Flores; brother, Eddie Garza; brother-in-law, Rene J. Gonzalez; aunt, Velia Fernandez; cousin, Felipe Fernandez. She is survived by daughter, Ana M. (Felipe) Granada; sons, Roberto E. Gonzalez Jr., Luis A. (Noemi) Gonzalez; grandchildren, Griselda E. (Bobby Cadwell) Gonzalez, Roberto E. Gonzalez, III, Felipe G. Granada Jr., Luis G. (Gabe) Gonzalez, Samantha D. Gonzalez, Melanie H. Granada, Marco A. Gonzalez, Steven (Crystal) Vasquez, Eric Vasquez; great grandchildren, Tyler Cadwell, Ezekiel Gonzalez, Joey Vasquez, Adrien Vasquez, Kristine Vasquez; sisters-in-law, Tomasita Gonzalez from Rio Grande, Texas and Hilda Garza from Houston, Texas; cousins, Norma Fernandez, Manuela Jasso, Bertha Fernandez and numerous relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 4, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Felipe G. Granada, Jr., Luis G. Gonzalez, Roberto E. Gonzalez, III, Marco A. Gonzalez, Hector “Tito” Garcia, Felipe Fernandez, Carlos Garcia and Santos Perez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Roberto E. Gonzalez, Jr., Luis A. Gonzalez and Felipe G.
