Adela Garcia

Adela Garcia Adela Garcia, 80, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 9, 2013 in Laredo, Texas. Ms. Garcia was a loving and caring daughter, sister, and doting aunt to her many nephews and nieces. Adelita was the first in her family to obtain a college degree from Laredo Junior College (Associate degree), a proud Martin High School graduate, and contributed a lifetime dedication to the Laredo Independent School District. She was an Office Clerk, a Textbook Curator, and Registrar at Martin High School and later worked at the Main Office at the Office of Attendance and Substitutes. She prayed constantly, for everyone, and she will be missed. Ms. Garcia is preceded in death by her parents, Santos (Anita) Garcia and Amparo Garcia; siblings, Alfonso Garcia, Pat Garcia, and Olga Hernandez; uncle, Polo Garcia; her loving nieces, Laura Belinda Garcia and Virginia L. Garcia; and nephew, Rosendo Garcia. She is survived by her siblings, Santos (Tomasita) Garcia Jr., Tomas (Julieta) Garcia, Francisco (Joyce) Garcia, Dolores (George) Diaz, Carmen (Manuel) Birmingham, and her many nephews and nieces whom she loved dearly. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to St. Patrick Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
