Maria Amalia Barcenas Maria Amalia Barcenas, 99, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2013 in Laredo, Texas. Mrs. Barcenas is preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Barcenas; children, Graciela Barcenas, Javier Barcenas, Ricardo Barcenas, and Gloria Martinez. She is survived by her children, Arturo (Helen) Barcenas, Blanca Barcenas, Ofelia (Fermin) Flores, and Armando (Tela) Barcenas. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren as well as numerous great-grandchildren. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Chapel. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to San Agustin Cathedral. A mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Armando Barcenas, Oscar Martinez, Jesus Contreras, Fermin Flores Jr., Alejandro Flores, Hector Flores, Juan Licon, and Ernesto Villarreal.
