Margaret Phillips

Margaret Oestreich Phillips Margaret O. Phillips entered into eternal peace on January 8, 2014. She was born, March 20, 1929, to the late Adela and Reuben Oestreich, in the Prairie Mountain Community in Llano County, Texas. She attended school in Prairie Mountain, and moved into Llano, to attend and graduate from Llano High School. After graduation, she married the love of her life Billy Phillips. Margaret and Billy moved to Corpus Christi, where they raised two daughters, Pamela and Denise. Margaret and Billy moved from Corpus Christi to Mirando City where she began the life as a rancher’s wife, which she truly loved. She was active in her Church, Garden Club, and bowling and simply enjoyed doing the simple things in life. She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Phillips after 60 years of marriage; and one grandson, Christopher Cody Carothers. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her daughter, Pamela Pike; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Rick Carothers. She also leaves 3 grandchildren, Carla and husband, Major Patrick Miller, Corey and wife, Catherine Carothers and Kerry Pike; she also leaves 4 great-grandchildren, Caleb Miller, Mackenzie Miller, Cate Carothers, and Christopher Carothers. She considered herself lucky to have had such a wonderful and caring family, and was always excited when everyone could be together. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Hillside Funeral Home in Laredo, Texas from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Chapel closes at 4:00 p.m. A private burial will be held at a future date in Valley Springs Cemetery in Llano, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Veterans, your Church or to your favorite charity.
