Carmen Sauceda This 11th day of January 2014, Maria Carmen Sauceda, 84, affectionately known by many simply as “Carmen” and/ or “Granny” was called to join our Heavenly Father. Carmen lived a wonderful life and set an example for her family to follow and will be dearly missed. Carmen Sauceda’s sole purpose in life was to serve our Lord in heaven and provide for her family and she accomplished both without ever sacrificing the principles instilled and engrained by her profound and abiding Catholic faith. While Carmen worked her entire life her service brought her tremendous satisfaction knowing that her integrity, dedication, and compassion for others, together with her unwavering strength and determination allowed her to better her family as well as help others in need. Mrs. Sauceda is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Perez and Soledad Santos; step-father, Manuel Cluke; sisters, Soledad Cisneros and Josefina Perrin; grandson, Alan Sauceda. Carmen left this earth peacefully surrounded by her surviving husband, Benito Sauceda, Jr.; children, Luis J. (Maria S.) Sauceda, Benito (Kathleen) Sauceda III, Dr. Donna (Kerim) Mery, Marty Sauceda, Dr. Francisco (Deahna) Sauceda; grandchildren, Salvador, Luisito, Panchito, Chave, Rachel, Angie and Abraham; 3 great grandchildren, and numerous relatives and friends. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 10:45 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
