Daniel F. Mendoza Daniel F. Mendoza, 81, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 in Laredo, Texas. Mr. Mendoza is preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Estela R. Mendoza; parents, Higinio Mendoza and Teresa G. Cantero. He is survived by his children, Leticia Mendoza, Cynthia (John) Gullette, Daniel (Maria Alicia) Mendoza, Jr., Patsy (Joe) Garcia; brother, Juan (Irma) Cantero; 11 grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Military honors will be provided by Fort Sam Houston Honor Guard and American Legion Post 59 Honor Guard. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Gullette, Robert Gray, Tommy Moreno, John Gullette, Joe Garcia and Gilbert Guerra. Honorary Pallbearers will be Juan Cantero, Frank “Pancho” Ramirez and David Ramirez.
