Helen Sample

Helen Cartee Sample Mrs. Helen Sample, 84, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2014 in Laredo, Texas. Helen was born on December 31, 1929 in Canyon City, Colorado. She is preceded in death by her father, Ellis Cartee; mother, Gladys Lowe; step-mother, Iona Cartee; son, Joe Hart Sample; and grandson, Richard “Hank” Sample Jr. She is survived by her son, Richard (Marie) Sample Sr., granddaughter, Marielee (Chris) Rasor, and great-grandsons, Aidan and Christian Rasor. Anybody that knew Ms. Helen knew her love for fishing. She took her fishing very seriously and loved the outdoors. She was also an avid gardener. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her biggest joy. She will be greatly missed. A chapel service will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel.
