Doris Epstein

Doris Epstein Doris Epstein, a loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 after a lengthy illness. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 7, 1933. She grew up in the Magnolia State and then left Mississippi to attend the University of Texas at Austin, where she met the love of her life, Ike. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clayton Abrams and Minnie Abrams Silverman; in-laws, David Epstein and Frieda Epstein. Mrs. Epstein is survived by her loving husband of more than 60 years, Ike; children, Clayton (Carolyn) Epstein and Karen Epstein Stewart; grandchildren, Rebekah Epstein, David Epstein, Kali Stewart, Kori Stewart; brother, Sam (Anne Cummings) Abrams; sisters - in-law, Hilda Epstein Plotkin and Ardith A. Epstein; nieces, Lori (Tim Truman) Abrams, Felicia (Austin) Harris, Denise Abredaris, and Sheryl (Jeff) Goforth. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A chapel service will follow immediately. A procession will be held after the chapel services to the Jewish Rest Cemetery of the City of Laredo Cemetery. Mrs. Epstein leaves a legacy of involvement in many Laredo Community Organizations and around the state.In lieu of flowers please make donations to Texas A & M International University Ike and Doris Scholarship for Nursing.
