Lucila R. Briones Lucila R. Briones, 69, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2014 in Laredo, Texas. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Acts Movement and her favorite pastime was her weekly bingo outing. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Roberto Armando Briones, Sr.; mother, Maria Rodriguez; grandson, Ruben “Woody” Briones, Jr; sister, Linda Homs. Mrs. Briones is survived by her children, Robert A. (Elena) Briones, Jr., Ruben G. (Patricia) Briones, Sr., Lucila I. Briones, and Tracy Ann (Alfredo) Estevanes; grandchildren, Trishia A. Briones, Jacqueline Lopez, Robert Briones, Stacey Marie Garza, Jennifer Ann Garza, Richard Anthony Orta, Efrain “Baby” Orta, Alfredo “Freddy” Estevanes, III and Denise Medrano ; brothers and sisters, Judy Ramos, Joseph (Gloria) Rodriguez, George Rodriguez, James (Kathy) Rodriguez; brother in law, Jose Luis Homs, 9 great grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Friday, August 15, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 8:00 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
