Mr. Teodoro Cuellar Sr. Mr. Teodoro Cuellar Sr., 94, passed away on December 29, 2014 in Laredo, Texas. Mr. Cuellar had a wonderful life-growing up in Crystal City and in Laredo, following his marriage to Anita. He had three children-Hope, Fay, and Teodoro Jr. He worked an assortment of jobs prior to his joining the U.S. Navy in 1944 being honorably discharged in 1946. He served on the U.S.S. Whiteside (troop transport) during his service in W.W. II. He was assigned in Tokyo Bay during Japan’s surrender. Following the war, Mr. Cuellar returned to Laredo and worked for B.B. Cleaners for several years. He then changed professions going to work for Allied Van Lines. He traveled the entire United States several times over and won numerous safety awards for driving over 4 million miles without an accident. He retired in 1980 and devoted the rest of his time to his loving wife and family. He will be sorely missed by his earthly family but will be gladly received by his heavenly family. Mr. Cuellar is preceded in death by his wife, Anita Cuellar; parents, Santiago Cuellar and Guadalupe M. Cuellar; sister-in-law, Beatriz Martinez; grandson, Marcus Fernandez; brothers, Santiago Cuellar, Jose Angel Cuellar, Julio Cuellar, Eduardo Cuellar, and Francisco Cuellar; and sister, Dolores C. Arcos. He is survived by his children, Hope (Mike) Fernandez, Fay (Hector) Elizondo, and Teodoro (Sylvia) Cuellar Jr; grandchildren, Mike (Dianette) Fernandez III, Max Fernandez, Gina (David) Hanna, Hector (Amy) Elizondo, Monica (Ben) Puig, Rosela (Chris) Laurel, and Tony Cuellar. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Mike Fernandez IV, Marcus Fernandez, Moses Fernandez, Matteo Fernandez, Avery Puig, Benjamin Puig, Brandon Puig, Zachary Hanna, Hayes Hanna, Trey Elizondo, and Andrew Elizondo; and his sister, Berta C. Rodriguez. A rosary will be recited on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. by the Catholic Daughters of America then followed by another rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 8:45 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to St. John Neumann Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
