Enrique Mendez, Jr. Mr. Enrique Mendez, Jr. passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his family on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, in Laredo, Texas at the age of 81. Mr. Mendez is preceded in death by his parents, Elodia & Enrique Mendez; and sister, Ofelia Mendez. He is survived by his wife, Isabel G. Mendez; his children, Elena Mendez Martinez, Norma Mendez, Ruben E. (Diana Silva) Mendez; niece, Toni Lee (Tony) Luz; grandchildren, Kathleen Richter, Elizabeth G. (Amit) Cummings Chadruary, Jacqueline A. Cummings, Samuel Wayne Cummings, Melissa Y. Martinez, Roberto A. (Bethany) Martinez and Nikolas R. Mendez; great-grandchildren, Matthew D. Richter and Natalee Richter. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Hector Mendes, Oscar (Gloria) Mendez, Sylvia (Peter) Britenbach and Laura Mendez (Roy I) Gordon as well as numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
