Maria De Jesus Novoa Ramos Maria de Jesus (Chita Novoa) Ramos, peacefully passed away, to join Our LORD, in her home in Laredo, Texas on March 27, 2015. Chita was born on September 15, 1919. She was 95 years old. Chita was a devoted wife and a dedicated caring mother, married to the love of her life, Andres (Andy) R. Ramos. They were married for 56 years until his passing in 1995. Together they reared their 17 children. Chita and her husband were faithful members of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Scepulchre of Jerusalem for many years. Chita attained the rank of Lady Grand Cross. She was also a Sultana in the International Order of the Alhambra. Chita, alongside her husband, Andres, was an active member of the Friendship Club as well as many other Civic organizations. She was a woman of faith always teaching her children that their lives should be God centered. She lived a life that demonstrated faith, love, and strength comes from God. Many knew her as a fun- loving person who brought humor and joy to all. She instilled in her children the joy of life. Chita believed that each child was a blessing from God. “Love does not divide, it multiplies” was one of her favorite expressions. Unconditional love and kindness was extended to all. She helped family, friends and strangers alike. Chita opened her home to all who needed. She cared for extended family in the midst of caring for her own. She will be remembered with love, respect and joy. Chita will be dearly missed. Chita is preceded in death by her husband, Andres R. Ramos; her parents, Luis and Maria De Jesus Novoa; and her siblings. She is survived by her 17 children, 53 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Her children include: Beatriz (Javier) Rodriguez, Xochiltl (Fred) Heins, Andres (Martha) Ramos, Jr. Ricardo (Lucy) Ramos, Nene (Tom) Wheeland, Tony (Bea) Ramos, Mario (Linda) Ramos, Jose Luis (Therese) Ramos, Javi (Linda) Ramos, Lita (Joe) Salazar, Rosie (Tito) De La Garza, Deedee (Carlos) Barrera, Cookie (Juan) Flores, Aggie (Saul) Ramirez, Sara (David) Guerra, Baltazar (Diana) Ramos and Anita Ramos-Granados. A rosary will be recited on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from Hillside Funeral Home to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 555 E.
