Mr. Leonel Garza Mr. Leonel Garza, 82 passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2015 in Laredo, Texas. Born in Rio Grande City, Texas but lived most of his life in Laredo. He was a United States Navy Veteran who served our county in the Korean War. He was also a devout member of his parish, Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfredo and Lorenza Garza; son, Leonel Garza, Jr; in-laws, Antonio and Guadalupe R. Hernandez; sister, Estela G. (Omar) Garza; brother, Armando Garza; brother-in-law, Emilio Hernandez. Mr. Garza is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Olga Diana H. Garza; children, Alfredo Antonio (Minerva) Garza, Hector Hugo (Christine) Garza, Armando Gerardo (Dora) Garza, Olga Diana (Eulisis) Delgado, Jr. and Eduardo Roberto Garza; daughter-in-law, Eloisa Garza; siblings, Lydia Richmond, Roel (Hannah) Garza, Maria del Rosario (Elias) Villarreal; brothers and sisters-in-law, Antonio (Rosa) Hernandez, Jr., Gloria (Jesus +) Benavides, Alicia (Javier +) Gonzalez, Ofelia (Amador) Juarez, Fidel (Trinidad) Hernandez; grandchildren, Nathaniel Garza, Jacqueline, Alejandro, Ernesto, Anna, Andres and Tony Jr. Garza, Hector, Breana and Nicholas Garza, Jessica, Amanda and Armando “AJ” Garza, Esperanza, Faith, Eulisis III and Eden Grace Delgado; 3 great grandchildren, Also surviving are numerous relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Navy Honor Guard.
