Maria Antonieta Villarreal, 91, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2015 in Laredo, Texas. Nena, as she was affectionately known, dedicated her life to her family and was an exemplary role model. The love and guidance she provided her children will be forever missed.
Mrs. Villarreal is preceded in death by her loving husband, Arturo Villarreal; sister, Belia Andrea Jimenez; grandchildren, Clemen P. Bell and Karina M. Villarreal; and nephew, Jose Javier Jimenez.
Mourning her loss, are her sons and daughters, Arturo (Sylvia Bird) Villarreal, Jr., Carlos (Irma) Villarreal, Norma (Jorge) Elizondo, Enrique (Bertha) Villarreal. Also, left to cherish her loss, are her grandchildren, Miguel A. (Gloria) Villarreal, Roger C. Rocha, David J. Elizondo, Roberta (Max) Benham, Carlos (Dee) Villarreal, Jr., Daniel J. (Margie) Elizondo, Eduardo E. Elizondo, Ricardo (Karina +) Villarreal, Sandra L. Villarreal and Judith C. Elizondo. “Grama Nena” is also survived by the “Loves” of her life, her eight great grandchildren.
A vigil will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 at 9:45 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to St. John Neumann Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.
Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Mrs. Villarreal’s caregivers, Margarita Huitron and Petrita Melendez for their dedication to Mrs. Villarreal’s well-being.
