Marianela Ferrara, with her daughters by her side, was peacefully taken by the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015.
She was 83 years old.
Nela, as she was lovingly called by those who knew her, is preceded in death by her father, Ignacio Manuel Sanchez; her mother, Maria de Dolores San Miguel-Sanchez; her sister, Magdalena Arredondo; her beloved husband of 38 years, Raymundo R. Ferrara; and her daughters, Teresa Ferrara-Aguirre and Norma Ferrara-Cantu; brother-in-law, Oscar Ferrara; and sisters-in-law, Lila Medellin and Graciela Ortiz.
She is survived by her siblings, Ignacio (Graciela) Sanchez Jr., Melida (Marcelino) Mares, Manuel (Genoveva) Sanchez, Cora Lopez; and sisters-in-law, Sylvia Sanchez, Lourdes Ramirez, Lamar Martinez, Gloria Hansen and Angela Fernandez; brother-in-law, Alfredo Ferrara; along with her two daughters, Sylvia Buitron and Malena (Aldo) Ferrara-Uribe; seven grandchildren, Cristina (Esteban) Paez, Melissa Buitron, Marissa (Daniel) Grau, Teresita (Dustin) Cantú-Coffelt, Gerardo Raymundo Tadeo Cantú, Carlos Raymundo Aguirre, and Jorge Alberto Ortiz Jr.; as well as six great-grandchildren, Sofia, Celika, Bobby, Diego, Esteban and Bella.
Nela, worked for Central Drug for 31 years and at Gateway Community Health Center for 14 years respectively.
She was also an avid reader and always had a book in her hand.
The family would like to especially thank Dr. Nimchan and Staff, Torres Home Health, Doctors Hospital ICU, 3rd and 4th floor Nursing Staff and Claudia Negrete-Godoy.
A rosary will be recited Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, at 7 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel.
A visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, from Hillside Funeral Home to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church.
A mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m.
Interment will follow at the family plot of Calvary Catholic Cemetery
