Maria M. Gutierrez affectionately known as Mary, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 29, 2016 at home surrounded by loved ones. Our mother was a loving woman who loved to be surrounded by family and friends. She was a Eucharistic Minister at Blessed Sacrament Parish and also belonged to several social clubs such as the L’Avenir Social Club, Lulac Council #624, and her Bunco Club. Mary raised three children with lots of love and good morals. Her children Arturo, Patricia and Melissa were her pride and joy as were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her sisters and brothers dearly, and enjoyed spending time with them. But her greatest love was her husband of 68 years. They spent every moment of their lives together and showed her family what the meaning of true love was. The family would like to thank her loving care takers; Ana Maria Perez, and Lizette Rubio. Mrs. Gutierrez is preceded in death by her parents, Fernando J. (Carmen) Mendez; her loving husband, Arturo Gutierrez, and her beloved great-granddaughter, Danniela Victoria. She is survived by her children Arturo F. (Sylvia) Gutierrez, Patricia Y. Hernandez, and Melissa “Mel” Gutierrez; grandchildren, Bellini (Wes†) Rice, Arturo Lacey, Marc Alexander (Kathy) Gutierrez, Jessica (Luis) Benavides, Bettina Hernandez and Monica Y. Hernandez; great-grandchildren, Christina Ellesse Vela, Alejandro J. Flores, Lola Rice, Gerardo E. Gutierrez, Marcela A.
