Maria Del Socorro Ortiz Lund, 67, joined her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 27, 2016 in Laredo, Texas. Mrs. Ortiz Lund is preceded in death by her parents, Jesus Ortiz and Marcelina R. Ortiz; brother, Jesus Ortiz; and her husband John Lund Jr. She is survived by her children Marcelino G. (Martha) Estrada Jr, Jose Luis (Guadalupe) Estrada, Guillermina Borrego, Sharon Estrada, and Dina Castañeda; grandchildren, Marcelino Estrada III, Ruby Estrada, Derek A. Estrada, Brittney Estrada, Arlene Borrego, Sara Borrego, Juan Borrego, Leslie Borrego, Eddie Ramirez Jr., Katherine Ramirez, Victoria Ramirez, David Castañeda Jr., and April Castañeda.Mrs. Ortiz Lund is also survived by her siblings Juanita Walls, Marcelina Varner, and Gregorio Ortiz, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the City of Laredo Cemetery.
