Jose Saavedra Jr. Jose Saavedra Jr., 73, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 in Laredo, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Mercedes Saavedra; brother, Enrique (Catalina) Saavedra; sisters, Carmen (Bernardo) Villarreal and Dora (Guillermo) Garza; niece, Natalia Elsa Garza; nephew, Guillermo Garza, Jr. Mr. Saavedra is survived by his former spouse, Carolina Salas Saavedra; children, Jose (Nancy) Saavedra, III and Elsa J. (Ty) Ishibashi; nieces and nephews, Cesar Rene Garza, Cynthia R. Garza, German Villarreal, Gerardo Villarreal and Gilberto (Romy) Villarreal. Also surviving are numerous relatives and friends. A chapel service will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
