Our Heavenly Father called upon his son Alfonso Roa Jr. on April 2, 2016. Born on July 6, 1951 in Mexico,
Mr. Roa was a retired veteran who took pride in his commitment and servitude to the United States Military. He served in the Army branch of our nation's Armed Forces. His unwavering commitment was further exemplified through his dedication to family. He was an honoring son, brother and father to his children. Throughout his life he was always counted upon for fellowship, extended generosity and candid personality. His life's work was in the business of import and export sales. His loyalty to the family business and solid work ethic was known by many friends, business partners and community. Mr. Roa was a joyful, lighthearted and passionate soul who will be dearly missed.
He is survived by the mother of his children Alicia Roa; children, Jennifer Roa-Nava, Alfonso ( Rose Figueroa) Roa III , Marcos (Cynthia Olaez) Roa, Valerie Roa; mother, Nazaria Roa, siblings, Hortencia (Enrique) Fasci, Yolanda Roa, Homero (Brenda) Roa, Sandra (Humberto) Garcia, Rosa Linda Roa, and Sonia Roa; grandchildren, Carlos, Eliud, and Mateo Nava, Milan, Madeline, Alfonso IV, Alexis, Madison and Levi Roa, Victoria Mendiola, and Robert Mancha III. Mr. Roa is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
A Chapel service will be officiated by Deacon Jerry Morales on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow at the Veterans Section of City of Laredo Cemetery.
