Maria Luisa Barrera

Maria Luisa Barrera, 88, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016 in San Antonio, Texas. Mrs. Barrera is preceded in death by her husband, Pedro Barrera Jr.; parents, Martin and Teresa Abrego; son, Pedro Daniel Barrera; sisters, Antonia Barrera, and Virginia Garcia; brothers, Martin Abrego, Bruno Abrego, and Benito Abrego. She is survived by her children Carlos J. (Barbara) Barrera, Ricardo (Debbie) Barrera, Eduardo Barrera, and Teresa (Mark) Ambrose; grandchildren, Kyle, Elijah (Stephanie), Dustin, Michael, and Randall Barrera; niece, Nora (Roy) Garcia; and nephew, Beto (Ari) Garcia. Mrs. Barrera is also survived by other family members and friends. A rosary will be recited on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 8:45 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to St. John Neumann Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Breast Cancer Foundation.
