Adelina R. Vda. de Villarreal 98, entered into eternal peace on Monday, June 20, 2016 in Laredo, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Tomas Rodriguez Gutierrez and Herlinda Vela Garcia, husband, Juventino Villarreal, Sr; siblings, Adelfa R. Elizondo, Maria del Refugio R. Ramirez, Rosendo Rodriguez, Amador Rodriguez, Tomas Rodriguez and Antonio Rodriguez. Adelina was born May 7, 1918 in Guerrero Viejo, Tamaulipas to Tomas Rodriguez Gutierrez and Herlinda Vela Garcia. She married Juventino Villarreal Sr. (†) whom she shared two children with, Juventino Jr, and Sergio Rene. She widowed at a young age and spent her time devoted to raising her children and doing what she loved, sewing. What started as a hobby of sewing evolved into her profession as a seamstress, which included her employment at Amede Frocks Inc, and later ending her extensive sewing career at Lady Brand. Her biggest accomplishment as a widowed parent, was educating her two sons graduating with Bachelor’s Degrees from Texas A&I Kingsville. She was a true example of what sacrifice and commitment to your family is. She had many friends and family whom she enjoyed spending time with and earned the respect and admiration of anybody she met. Her summers consisted of her yearly trips to Mexico City that she enjoyed with family and friends. Those who knew her can agree that she was a very classy lady always in good spirits with a contagious smile that would light up a room. She is survived by her children Juventino (Imelda) Villarreal of Laredo, TX and Sergio R. Villarreal of Corpus Christi, TX; grandchildren, Clarissa (Raul) Guardiola of Laredo, TX, Monica (Tony) Ramos of Laredo, TX, Juventino Villarreal III of Laredo, TX, Patricia (Victor) Tovar of North Carolina, Mark Villarreal of North Carolina; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Delia R. Mejorada of Laredo, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family would like to thank her devoted caregivers, Christina, Perla, Sonia, Monica and Fernanda. They would also like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Carlos Casas, MD & Nurses on Wheels Home Health Care Service. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 5:00p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to San Luis Rey Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Juventino Villarreal III, Jorge Elizondo, Alfonso Mejorada, Jesus Mejorada, Patricia Tovar, Mark Villarreal, Raul Guardiola and Jose Antonio Ramos. Honorary Pallbearers will be Alejandro E. Guardiola, Allen E. Guardiola, Daniela A. Ramos, Seth Piekert, Mary Lou Tovar, Melissa Tovar, and Joshua Tovar.
