Rosita Salazar On the morning of July 28, 2016, Rosita Salazar passed away peacefully after a long battle with illnesses. Rosita was surrounded by family and friends at the time of her passing. Rosita was 72 years old. Rosita was brought up in a loving home by her parents and siblings. She graduated from Martin High School and left to San Antonio to attend college for Licensed X-ray Tech. Rosie was a loving mother and grandmother. She taught us how to respect others, have morals, and God in our hearts. She was employed by United Independent School District where she became the Counselor’s Secretary with 19 years of service. She was known as Miss Rosie to those she worked with and to the families of children that came her way. The counselors always said her smile was contagious and that she was always in good spirits. She is preceded in death by her father, Jose C. Salazar; her mother, Rosa Maria Flores-Salazar; brother, Ernesto Salazar. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Gonzalez; grandsons, Jeffrey Gonzalez, Kristopher Gonzalez, and Zackrey Gonzalez; siblings, Grace Salter, Yolanda Carmona, and Javier Salazar. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Services will conclude at the chapel.
