Danelli Benavides
Danelli Benavides quietly slipped into eternal rest after a brief illness Monday, January 23, 2017, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Danelli was born on June 11, 1975, in McAllen, Texas. She was raised in Laredo and was a lifelong resident. Danelli was a liberated soul who enjoyed her close friends and the simplicities life had to offer.
She was a compassionate, caring daughter. She was an amazing sister. Danelli was a loyal friend and family member, who will be remembered for her love of travel, and for her adventurous spirit. She had a passion for yoga that led her to be an excellent instructor. Danelli had a knack for passing her enthusiasm for yoga onto others. It was here that she felt at peace and her best.
Danelli was a devoted mother. She loved her children more than life itself. She taught her children the importance of warmth and love. She had recently welcomed her first grandchild. Her new role as a grandmother brought her such joy.
She is preceded in death by her father, Gustavo Benavides; brother, Brandon Benavides.
Danelli Benavides is survived by; Hector Cortez; her children, Chelsie Benavides, Yuri Cortez; her newborn grandson, Jeremy. She is also survived by her mother, Leticia P. Gallegos; sisters Letizia (Lazaro Moreno) Benavides, Rosita (Ralph) Lacey; her brothers, Gustavo (Sabrina) Benavides, Francisco (Patricia) Benavides, Sheldon (Andrea) Gallegos. Danelli is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and beloved friends.
A vigil will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A second vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Services will conclude at the chapel.
