Rosario Curiel, 76, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her 2 daughters and her dear parrot “Booger” on Monday, February 13, 2017, in Laredo, Texas.
Ms. Curiel was a loving mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother. She worked at the H-E-B meat market for over 25 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She dedicated her time by serving at San Vicente de Paul Catholic Church for over 25 years as President of the Altar Society and as a CCD teacher. She was affectionately known for being “Teacher Grandma” for 16 years by all the students at Holy Angels School. She also had a passion to paint ceramics. Ms. Curiel will forever be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Ms. Curiel is preceded in death by her parents, David Curiel, Alejandrina S. Curiel; siblings, Blas Curiel, David Curiel, Diana Olivares, Emma Lucio, Gloria Oliva, and Gilberto San Miguel.
She is survived by her daughters, Rosario Arellano, Lulu (Hugo) Munoz; her long-time dear pet parrot “Booger”; grandchildren, Hugo David (Sasha) Munoz Jr., Carlos Antonio Munoz, Marco Alberto Munoz; great-grandson, Austin Razavi; sister-in-law, Elida I Curiel; special nieces, Terri (Jerry) Ochoa, Betty (Joe) Gonzalez; Goddaughter, Juany Perez; best friends, Irma Bueno and Alicia Gonzalez, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
A rosary will be recited on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to San Francisco Javier Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.
Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
