Maria de Los Angeles Escamilla, 87, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017, in Laredo, Texas. Mrs. Escamilla is preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Escamilla; children, Baby Boy Escamilla and Baby Girl Escamilla; parents, Ricardo and Micaela R. de Higareda; siblings, Ascencion Higareda Vda. De Zamora, Cecilia Ramirez, Reyes Higareda, Manuel Higareda, and Pedro Higareda. She is survived by her children, Ma. Concepcion Escamilla, Martha Beatriz Escamilla, Carlos Manuel (Diana) Escamilla, Rosa Lina (Juan A.) Zamarripa, Angie Escamilla, Ricardo Javier Escamilla, and Guadalupe Escamilla; siblings, Consuelo Higareda and Marcos (Enedina) Higareda; sisters-in-law, Eulalia Llanas and Ma. Antonieta Sanchez. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 7:00p.m. in the Hillside Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. from Hillside Funeral Home to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
