God has called Juan Martinez, 90, to his kingdom in heaven, Mr. Martinez passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 with his family by his side.
Juan was known for many names “Juanito” besides Dad, and Grandpa. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Aurora Alicia Rodriguez, claiming she was the love of his life. He was a kind, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and was obsessed with working even after retirement. Even from his wheelchair, he wanted to go to work. Juan was born December 26, 1926 in Laredo, Texas to Pedro Ozuna Martinez and Ines Garcia. His father was a civil servant employee at the Laredo Air Force Base and his mother a housewife. Juan had three siblings, Pedro Jr., Antonia (York) Martinez, and Maria Luisa Martinez Perez, who preceded Juan in death. God gives people each a special gift, Juan’s gift was the love of people, to help, and especially to give. He was kind and loving, friendly, humorous and joyful; always laughing and happy.
