Maria Ramona Wirsching

Maria Ramona Wirsching, 92, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017, in Austin, Texas, where she had lived with her daughter and family the last several years. A lifelong resident of Laredo, Mrs. Wirsching was born on September 27, 1924 to Geronimo Salinas and Cristina Arambula Salinas in Villaldama, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Mrs. Wirsching is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph Wirsching; her sister and brother-in-law Zulema and Luis Collazo. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, she is survived by her children, Joe (Anna) Wirsching Jr., Elsa Wirsching (Ricardo) Guimbarda, and George (Virginia) Wirsching; grandchildren, Maria Catalina Guimbarda (David) Dean, Andrea Christina Wirsching, Ricardo David Guimbarda, Michael Christopher Wirsching, Joseph (Sandra) Wirsching, III, Miguel Angel Guimbarda, Marie Elizabeth Wirsching, and Matthew David Wirsching; great-grandchildren, Joseph Wirsching, IV and Charles Francis Guimbarda Dean; nephews and nieces, Jorge (Myrthala) Collazo, Ricardo Collazo, Yolanda (Fabian) Mendoza, Gina (Felipe) Tovar , and Alfredo (Lourdes) Collazo and their families. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., at Hillside Funeral Home, 310 Hillside Road, Laredo, Texas. A funeral service Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 28, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 1704 Sandman Street, Laredo, Texas.
