Vicente G. Gutierrez passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017 in Laredo Texas.

He began working as a teenager with the Alfredo Santos gas company for 15 years prior to joining the Hygeia Dairy Company (originally Knolle Dairy Farms) for the next 29 years. He retired in 1998 after establishing a series of lifelong friendships with many of his peers. Those closest to him would describe him as hardworking, dependable, and genial. Following retirement, Vicente remained very active in his local church and community. He was a committee member for the Protection of Social Security & Medicare and member of the Senior Circle. He was heavily invested in his local church, Our Lady of Guadalupe, where he spent approximately 40 years volunteering and assisting for the weekly morning services. He was also a member of the Santo Nombre at his church and, in 1987, was named Father of the Year by the church.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lupita (Oscar) Cortez; parents Nicolas and Leonor Gutierrez; and siblings Jose (Maria+) Gutierrez, Jesus (Isaura) Gutierrez, Maria Estrada, and Juan Adan (Rosario) Gutierrez.
