Alicia Martinez

Mrs. Alicia Martinez, 71, entered into the kingdom of heaven on March 9, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Laredo, Texas, on July 30, 1953, the daughter of the late Maximino and Alicia R. Martinez. She was educated in the public school's system locally. She was a proud graduate of J.W. Nixon High School in the early 1970's. Alicia went on to earn her Bachelors of Science Degree in Math. She began her teaching career shortly after graduation, having taught countless young students throughout her 30 plus years of service. She will forever live in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved her.

Alicia now joins her parents: Maximino and Alicia R. Martinez; brother/sister-in-law: Gonzalo "Chalo" Martinez and Carol Martinez; brother-in-law: Enrique Gonzalez, and nephew: Cesar Gonzalez.

Left behind to cherish her memory are: Carlos Gonzalo Hernandez (Son), Katherine Haley Hernandez (Granddaughter), Maria Teresa Paz (sister) & Eduardo Jorge Paz (nephew), Sylvia & Dionisio Lozano (sister & brother-in-law) & Camile & Audrey Wamsley (nieces), and Andrea Gonzalez (sister), Josue Gonzalez (nephew), & Thiago Gonzalez (grand-nephew), as well as a great number of extended family and friends she met long her life journey.

The family will receive condolences on Sunday, March 16, 2025, from 5 to 9 pm at Hillside Funerals and Cremations, where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will be offered at 7 in the evening.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 17, 2025, departing the funeral home at 9:40 am to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church, where A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.
