Antonio Garibay Sr., October 30, 1936 was called to the lord on January 10, 2023 at the age of 86. He was surrounded by loved ones when he passed on to a better life.

He married his wife Yolanda in 1958 & were happily married for 64 years, they shared a lifetime of love.

He was born & raised in Laredo, Texas. He graduated with honors from Martin High School, the mighty class of 56. He was president of the Vocational Welding Class that competed & Won state that same year. After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force & served his country proudly for 20 years. During this time, he distinguished himself by meritorious service & was awarded several Joint Service Commendation Medals. After the Air Force, he worked for the City of Laredo Public Works Dep. For 20 years.

Tony was a loving, giving person. He always had time not only for his family, but also for anyone who wanted to chat. His nieces, nephews & in laws knew who he was & the love he had for them. He will be deeply missed.

The Garibay Family would like to thank the doctors & nurses from Doctors Hospital ICU unit for the care that was given & for their compassion & kindness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Blas & Maria Garibay, siblings: Enriqueta Allman, Rebecca (Leon) Rodriguez, Graciela (Raul) Herrera, & Raul (Ofelia) Garibay.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 64 years of marriage, Yolanda Garibay, children: Antonio Garibay Jr., Cecilia Garibay, Norma Liendo, & Irene Garibay, grandchildren: Erica (Juan) Gutierrez, Rachel (Michael) Raiche, Rupert A. Flores, Jenny Liendo, Cassie Garibay, Esai Liendo, Abbby (Steven) Rivera, & Zach Garibay, great-grandchildren: Analee, Brandon, Ale, Felix, Oliver, Makayla, & Hazel, sister, Aurora (+Jose) Mata, nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive condolences on Friday, January 13, 2023, from 5pm to 9pm at Hillside Funerals and Cremations. A Prayer Service will be offered at 7:00 pm.


Pallbearers: Tony Garibay Jr., Rupert Flores, Esai Liendo, Juan Gutierrez, Bini Bernal, Rene Perez, Bobby Herrera, Richards Herrera.

Honorary Pallbearers: Zachary Garibay, Brandon De Leon, Michael Raiche, Raul Garibay Jr., Raul Herrera Jr.
A funeral procession will depart the funeral chapel at 9:30 am on Saturday, December 14, 2023, to Templo El Buen Pastor where a funeral servicve will be held at 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Interment will follow immediately to the Veteran's Section of the Laredo City Cemetery.

Military honors will be provided by Air Force Honor Guard  and American Legion Post 59.
